<lj:music>Five State Drive - Less Than Jake</lj:music>

wilderness orientation was a huge sex fest.. no, that is in fact 100% literal.

so yesterday i moved in to my dorm, its pretty nice, and it is said that they are the biggest dorms on campus. i think what they did was use up all their energy making rooms slightly bigger, totally ignoring the bathrooms. i feel like i can contract an std by simply setting foot in the place. theres one rickety shower thats broken and only works because people ignored the screen door and hung up another screen right in front of it. sigh. well at least its water not mud.

good news tho, i met a few people who are actuallly friends, not acquaintances of the "hi whats your name where are you from where are you staying... cool ok bye" variety. so things will probably end up alright eventually.

i am tired because it is 730 in the morning... im going to be taking a spanish placement exam (which i plan to fail) at 930... but i guess i woke up with my roommate who has to take it at 830... hes gone now. yesterday i got very little sleep. i was mucking around doing nothing feeling miserable till about 2 in the morning. at this point i called up the singaporean girl who lives downstairs and said let's go find food. so at 2 in the morning we left and just wandered around talking till we ended up in some creepy residential district... i swear one person had ghosts in his lawn. we got back at about 315. we found no food... cuz it was late. which reminds me, im starving. im going to head to breakfast

did you know that that is hermione's favorite spell?? =D hooray!

anyways for one of the most interesting reads involving what i call "Harry Potter Theory" (ha its like music theory except its for harry potter) go to this site:

http://www.davekopel.com/Misc/Mags/Severus-Snape-The-Unlikely-Hero-of-Harry-Potter-book-7.htm

and if you want an embellishment (aka a mad-long discussion forum of the above topics) go to this site:

http://blog.qiken.org/archives/2005/07/harry_potter_th.html

this thing took me forever to finish reading through... and its fun not only cuz smart people discuss the overlooked parts of harry potter, but stupid people discuss stupid topics, eventually getting themselves unceremoniously banned from the forum. :) i like when the stupid guy got himself banned by saying the stupidest comments.

look! cho chang! ...for some reason it might want u to go into properties and paste out the picture url source... who knows why
its sad its so smal cuz shes cute. pictures of her are surprisingly hard to find :'(

and jane ill spare you, ginny doesn't look grown up enough yet, another disappointment. only in my head is she grown up and you know... but she does have the makings of another violet :)

im in tahoe again! i say again because i was in tahoe 2 or 3 weeks previously. last trip, we painted walls and this trip we are furnishing with modern day conveniencesS!

im having difficulty with the fact that our "cabin" up here in the mountains is better furnished than any other house we've stayed in. yesterday we bought a big, flat screen tv and a FANTASTIC stereo system, complete with 5 satellite speakers and a subwoofer. a subwoofer! can you believe that? woof!

the ride up here was no fun tho, we rented a big uhaul truck. its deceiving right, you see this big truck and you assume it must have lots of space! because its so big! but the cab is this tiny cramped space where three of us had to fit. and the radio didn't even have a tape deck. it was a big black box with four large, round buttons that said 1, 2, 3, 4. minus the commmas. it looked like one of those "big note" music books for the blind and stupid. anyways i slept. zz.

my laptop is heating my bed. i dont want my bed heated... ill sweat when i finally go to sleep :(

a dog ran into our yard today.

i found some rubber hosing in the shed today.

we have mosquitos breeding in our junky pool.

my bed has a mattress now.

...these are today's other highlights! oh yes im having fun.. just me and nature... and the hosing and bed.

band camp started on saturdayyyyy

its not the same without rusty and dave, so you know. ive made friends with a few of these extremely talented musicians... they're actually really cool people tho, its cool. not the same experience tho, by far.

theres been really good concerts every night tho, last night there were two phenomenal singers... one of them was a singer/pianist... it was so good. to be honest tho there could be too much music. thanks to my new friends, they dont talk about anything but music. and not your normal "music talk." nothing like "what is ur favorite band" or "look, im not listening to jazz!" no no no. they discuss jazz theory and advanced scale technique. they discuss it like they're talking about the new restaurant in town, sickening!

lucky tho, theres one girl named karen who's been playing the sax for 1.5 yrs, total beginner. shes from hong kong. and thank god i can just hang out with her and talk about things that aren't related to music. and i can make fun of all the other campers with her. its refreshing, its the best i have here. :P

on a slightly unrelated note, theres this really ugly trombone player. hes really tall and thin and it looks like his eyebrows cover the entire front of his face. i hate looking at him, the sight of him bugs me. and he always looks like hes mad. and becuase of his eyebrows, its stupid-mad. can't look at him...

keep my secret, buddy. hope you are well. heehee.
